A new Orange Village serving communities

Through Orange Villages, we aim to support the socio-economic development of African communities. On September 26, 2023, a Village Orange (opens in a new window) was inaugurated in Antsahafilo, Madagascar. Set up in partnership with Action Éducation, it was financed by the Orange Foundation via a salary rounding operation. The Group’s employees in France have the opportunity to donate this rounding to one of the Foundation’s associative partners.

Thanks to the Village Orange, the 4,000 inhabitants of Antsahafilo now have access to safe water, healthcare and education. The sanitary blocks have been renovated and electrified, and the attendants’ building annexed to the health center has been rebuilt. A drinking water supply system has also been installed.

The village’s public elementary school, built 140 years ago and in a very poor state of repair, has been renovated and electrified. Supporting the education of young children is important to us. They are the future of these villages. In Madagascar, more than 60% of pre-school children do not go to school according to a 2019 UNICEF report. Things can change, and we are determined to help!
